What Manner of Man Was Jesus

The start

When Adam sinned, Heaven got busy. No man, angel, or anything else could pay the price for the wrong that had been done.

Jesus in His loving manner said: if you prepare me a body, I will go down and pay the price for a sinful man. He left His home in glory and came here to an evil wicked world. What manner of man would do something like this? Would you?

What manner of man would have people are talking about Him before He is even born? There has never been a King, or President that got that kind of ink in the paper, or time on television before his arrival. Jesus had a reputation before He walked on the earth in a physical manner.

For forty and two generations the prophets talked about Him. The living Savior. He would save His people from their sins. Isaiah talked about His coming about seven hundred and fifty years before His getting here in person.

The angels in Heaven became excited about this event. The world as it was known at that time started to prepare for His coming. Not all was good, but you just don't know what Jesus had in store for mankind.

The early years

Before the birth of Christ, even the stars followed His travel. The wise men, as we like to call them; stopped what they were doing to go to witness the main event.

They took gifts to give to the new king and en-route they ran into the old king. The old king, Herod by name was afraid the new king would take his place on the throne. Herod told the wise men if they found the baby, let him know so he too could go and worship him.

The Christ child though but a baby, had His Father God on His side. This gentle baby had the angels, the Holy Spirit, and God Himself on His side. The wise men found the baby and worshipped Him, gave Him the gifts and then the Holy Spirit told them to go home another way. What manner of child is this to call the shots from the cradle?

After the wise men left the Spirit of God told Joseph, to go to Egypt until they were told to go home. Scripture is silent on many of the young boy's early years, but we do know the same God that takes care of us, took care of Him.

We next hear of Him in the Temple, talking with all those old experienced men and He was really teaching them. He was twelve years old at the time and told His parents, it was time for Him to be about His Father's business.

Later life

This mild mannered young man grew, but the scripture is silent about Him. The next time we hear from Him John the Baptist spots Him and cries out; behold the Lamb of God. John did not want to baptize the Christ, because John felt he was not worthy to do so. Jesus insisted John baptize Him.

As the ministry of our Lord and Savior grew, He changed water into wine at a wedding, healed the sick and gave sight to the blind. What manner of man is this that would heal a leper, would fast for forty days.

This man grew tried and fell asleep in the bottom of a ship. The disciples woke Him and asked Him if He was concerned that they were about to parish. He Stood up0 and said: peace be still! The storm ceased its raging and the disciples asked each other, what manner of man is this that even the storm obeys Him?

At the end of His life, they led Him from one hall to another, all night they beat him and insult5ed Him and He never said a word. They took Him to Cavalry and hung Him high and stretched Him wide. two thieves. One of them ask that the Christ to remember him in paradise.Jesus told him, today you will be with me in Paradise. What manner of man would give His life for His friends; the world. .

conlusion

What manner of man is this? More humble than any man you have ever met. Stronger then any man you have ever encountered.

He was the one that paid the price for you and I to have a chance to that eternal tree of life.Yes we are all better people, because Jesus the Christ came, paid the price for you and for me. What manner of man is this?

glmclendon: Thank you for this Hub. The History of My Saviour.

The fall of man into sin has always held one unanswered question for me.

What if Adam never listened to Eve so that only Eve was the one to disobey, would we still all have to answer for the original sin? Would Jesus still have to do as He did?

I cannot presume to think as God or answer for God but it makes me wonder how God would have handled the sin of bisobedience if it was only Eve and not Adam to who fell and disobeyed.

As I see it,"Free Choice" is a right and priviledge that man can and could have done without. Blind obedience is preferable than choosing whether or not to obey God.

"Free Choice" began with Lucifer and the angels, long before God Created anything. If God is capable of making a mistake, permitting "Free Choice" was and is a huge one.

glmclendon: I wonder if the soldier who nailed the Messiah to the cross, ever really realized his part in the freedom of man from sin, or was it just another task carried out as ordered? One would think that Jesus or God would give him a clue as to who he had just really crucified. What guilt he must have felt, if he finally knew he had hung the true Messiah?

I think as long as he stayed on this earth, he would always carry that burden. There would be no rest for him.
